Congratulations to The 2022 AWSF Kim Ephgrave Visiting Professor

Leah C Tatebe, MD FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Northwestern University Division of Acute Care Surgery. She serves as the Associate Trauma Medical Director and as an Associate Program Director for the General Surgical Residency with a focus on resident autonomy. Her educational methodology serves to guide trainees to develop skills and confidence within the “spectrum of safety.” Before joining Northwestern, she was the Director of Clinical Research at the Cook County Trauma Unit and was able to push the boundaries of prehospital research within Chicago and promote collaborative projects between institutions for the good of all Chicago trauma patients. She is Chair of the AWS Grants and Fellowship committee, Chair of Advocacy for the Chicago Committee on Trauma, and actively serves on several national injury prevention committees.
